– According to Price Charting, Resident Evil 2 is pretty affordable. There are more than 10 different versions available at this point, and they’re all between the $5 and $20 range.
– Here is the Kotaku article by Stacie Ponder, mentioned by Steve on the show, about the ungodly number of Resident Evil ports out there. Achievement Oriented also did a segment on it, but Steve can’t remember which episode it was on, so just check them out in general.

– Achievement Oriented, the video game podcast on Bill Simmons’ Ringer network, had an interesting episode on the future of sports video games – and how bad NBA Live has been lately – and how damn successful Grand Theft Auto 5 has been. You can listen to it here!

– Diablo is pretty affordable nowadays, as it’s usually bundled with the second installment and their expansion packs in $15 to $30 physical media packages. However, it can be a bit tough to find, since Blizzard doesn’t support it. Diablo 2 is $9.99 for a digital download from the Blizzard website, with the expansion pack another $9.99.
– The Diablo expansion, Hellfire, is actually pretty pricy to obtain legally. A new copy on Amazon is going for $103, and used copies are $46.

– The Ringer had a cool retrospective on Tecmo Super Bowl, because it’s the 25-year anniversary for the game. Check out our show on the game here!

– From Polygon via Variety, the Mortal Kombat movie reboot might be directed by Simon McQuoid. Read more here.

– Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was released in 1992. It added Tails as a secondary character, as well as the “dash” ability thing when you’re in a ball, which was actually hella helpful.

SHOW NOTES
– According to Price Charting, Final Fantasy VII is still relatively affordable for the ole PSX. It’s around $16 to $20, depending on whether you want the Greatest Hits or “black label” original version. It’s also been re-released on Steam and the PS4, and usually costs between $5 and $15, depending on sales and what not. That version adds some playability functions, like fast forwarding and God mode.
– The Final Fantasy VII remake is still progressing at Square. You can read more about it on Wikipedia. No release date has been set, but as mentioned on the show, it’s supposed to be a bit more action-oriented than the original game, kind of more in line with current Square offerings.
– Steve’s podcast pick was Achievement Oriented from The Ringer. You can find the webpage for the show here. He particularly recommends the episode “Making Mo-cap Magic,” which features a funny chat with two actresses.
